I'm sure it has happened many times ...

... personally I tried to kick John Brunner out of a staff party at a Liverpool Eastercon (British National) [1]


[1] Ok, I didn't actually try to kick him out, I didn't recognise him and his badge was hidden under his jacket and we'd had security problems in Liverpool so I was being cautious. So I just asked to see his badge to make sure he was a convention member.
