Profile

I'm an active science fiction fan and convention organizer. I attended my first SF convention when I hopped on a bus to ride 400 miles to Anaheim to attend the 1984 World Science Fiction Convention in Anaheim. Eleven years later, I chaired my first WSFS Business Meeting. I co-chaired the 2002 Worldcon, ConJosé, in San José, California. I'm currently on the Board of Directors of San Francisco Science Fiction Conventions, Inc., the non-profit corporation that hosted the 2002 and 1993 Worldcons and CanSMOF, the non-profit corporation behind the 2009 Worldcon. I am also a member of the World Science Fiction Society's Hugo Awards Marketing Committee. I was Events Division Manager (Ceremonies, Hugo Awards, Masquerade) for Interaction, the 2005 Worldcon in Glasgow, Scotland, and was also part of the committee for Westercon 64, the 2011 Westercon in San José. I was Fan Guest of Honor of CascadiaCon, the 2005 North American Science Fiction Convention, in Seattle WA and Marcon 2008 in Columbus OH. I was the chair of Westercon 74 in Tonopah, Nevada in 2023

In real life, I work as a supply chain solutions engineer for GXO Logistics (formerly Menlo Worldwide Logistics) in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I analyze shipment networks and find more efficient ways to get our clients' goods moved from where they are to where they need to be and build Microsoft Access-based multi-user database applications.
