Reminds me of this person in our circle who is apparently Allergic To Everything, now, so if someone brings a cake to a party it's whisked out to the balcony & the door shut because " - it may contain nuts and, well, Hypochondria Whiteknuckler's here, so..." We even once cancelled a group trip to a particular restaurant as this person had 'heard' that the kitchen staff used latex gloves.
Sorry; it's just that as you said, a valid reason for cancelling the race or whatever, yada yada ( - yada squared). I concur about the needs of the few or the one outweighing the many, just out of political correctness.
