I believe you're thinking of the Goon Show episode "Shifting Sands (http://goonshow.wikia.com/wiki/Shifting_Sands)", but Colonel Chinstrap replaced Major Bloodnok at short notice in "Who Is Pink Oboe? (http://goonshow.wikia.com/wiki/Who_Is_Pink_Oboe%3F)" as well.
