Interesting. I had no idea there was a ferry. When I lived in Astoria (1972-4) Portland was my frequent weekend place and after trying Hwy 4 once, I settled on Hwy 30. Especially after they opened that mile-high bridge over I-5. A few times I took 26, the Sunset Highway, if I had all day and it wasn't raining too hard.
