I once took the train down the Royal Gorge down by Colorado Springs, and that included a car with windows on the ceiling so you could look up - of course, there was also a car that didn't have a roof - same idea, but somehow having a window to look up through while travelling is lovely. I thought it was a fun trip, I don't know if you've had the pleasure of that one. If not, maybe you can fit it in before or after the Westercon coming up in Denver? Hope springs eternal.
I'd like to take another long train ride. The longest one I've taken was in France - I was out in Montpellier (on the Mediterranian, or darn close) for business and spent the weekend in Paris via the TGV train. Fast and very nice.
