Absolutely! That's why I sprung the $20 or so for emergency medical evacuation insurance for this week. Tonopah is >100 miles from the nearest hospital, and an emergency medical air evacuation (generally not covered by ordinary health insurance) can cost more than $100,000!
We warned people about this on our website, but I would be surprised if many other people did the same as I did. I certainly hope not to need it, but given that one of Lisa's deputies had a heart attack a few days ago and is in the hospital awaiting heart-bypass surgery, it's something to bear in mind. There's never a good time to have a heart attack, but if she had to have it, it's better she had it back in the Bay Area than here in Tonopah.
