Cottonwood Regrowth
As I wrote about a while ago, we aggressively cut back the somewhat stunted cottonwood tree in the East Lot to prevent it from producing a storm of cottonwood seeds. That seems to have succeeded, but the tree is not dead.

The tree is festooned with new leafy growth, but fortunately in putting all of its energy into leaves, it doesn't seem to be putting anything into fruiting bodies.
Eventually (but probably not until next year), we'll cut off those dead branches sticking up from the tree. We may get a little bit of firewood out of them.
