That was a big breakfast buffet, not necessarily what you could get from less expensive places. FWIW, my "usual breakfast" from the restaurant within walking distance from my home in Fernley costs me (inclusive of tax and gratuity) about two-thirds what I paid that buffet breakfast (which includes tax and for which I don't tip because I've been told people are paid livable wages in Iceland): US$23 vs US$35.

$71 was the cost for two people, not one. The base price was 4900 kr per person; you'd have to convert that for your local currency. However, Iceland is a generally expensive place, due to almost everything having to be imported.

There was a convention here in Reykjavik a few months ago. It's called IceCon.

I organized a convention in a place that was very inexpensive. It just was challenging to get to it.
