Indeed, blogs that require registration to comment do not ever get any comments from me, and eventually I tend to stop reading them too.

The spam filter mostly works fine, but I suspect redwolfoz overslept this morning as, when I checked, there were nearly 200 of the buggers clogging up the filter. And I needed to skim through that lot for false positives.
