Now that we're upstairs, we have to deal with the rising heat. (It's a 2-story townhouse -- a small "footprint," but the offices and bedroom are upstairs, so that's where we spend a lot of our time.) We're trying to tough it out for this first summer and see how much AC is really needed. We might buy a window unit for next year if it's too unbearable. (The windows in this place are pretty dismal. It's a funky 1970s architecture with very narrow windows, only half of which are designed to open. If you're ever driving down Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road near 280 and see these strange slanted roofs on the residential buildings on either side of the street, that's where we are.)
