Working From Home

The stars were aligned correctly this week to allow me to drive home to Fernley yesterday afternoon and to work from here today. I'm getting used to the drive in one sense, but it's not something I can do every weekend. Later this afternoon after work, we hope to go over to Lowe's and pick out paint for repainting the porch/stairs on Fernley House. Now that the weather has warmed up, Lisa would like to get started on the painting, because it's a job that doesn't have to be done all at one go and that she can do herself in batches. Now to decide what color paint and to try and figure out how much area we have to cover.

Sky Blue with neon lime green trim, of course.

Lisa suggests Armour Yellow and Harbor Mist Gray with Signal Red trim with a big "125" painted on the side.

The actual colors of paint used here I would describe as "crimson and cream," although the colors have faded over time.

That works. And it's close enough to Sante Fe colors for my taste.

Some years back there was a house near mine which was quite easy to spot along its street. It seems the inhabitants worked at a paint store and got leftover paint as a fringe benefit; since they got their house paint in small deliveries of random colors, the overall effect was...unusual. Lovely, and striking, but not something you'd see every day.

Eventually they moved and the house got repainted to appear more conventional and boring.
