I know what you mean. But do keep in mind that in the shots of audiences, if you see any banks of mostly female, younger people, that it's probably debgeisler's students, who were assigned to come to SMOFCon and take notes as a class project.
Sorry I haven't taken the time to try and caption these things. I find that I have the choice between a small number of well-documented photos, or many more shots with no captions. I don't know how hazelchaz manages it.
When I switched to writing down names at the point of taking the pictures, I conclued I was taking about half as many pictures. (Really, half as many subjects; a double-snap or triple-snap counts as the same shot from the point of view of the caption notebook.)
And you're at a convention. They've got nametags. There will never be a better time to write down their names.
