Positive News Story

Thanks to my standing Google search for "Hugo Award," I saw that [livejournal.com profile] gerisullivan was the subject of a newspaper article about her winning the 2007 Hugo Award for Best Fanzine and about her design business. It was nice to see an upbeat, accurate story about SF fans.

I think another Hugo winner -- Bob Eggleton -- would say it best:

COOOOOOOOL!!!!!

Sweet.

I stopped by LiveJournal on my way to the Springfield Republican's website to see if the article was online. It's in their weekly community supplement, which isn't all that easy to find online. I probably wouldn't have found it without your link!

They didn't include [livejournal.com profile] benveniste's photo credit in the print version, but the reporter did a much better than average job of distilling our chatty phone conversation into a coherent article.

Both [livejournal.com profile] fringefaan and I have been much blessed by positive media coverage following Science-Fiction Five-Yearly's Best Fanzine Hugo Award. It's been fun!

I was the featured guest on the Wales community access cable TV show, and Randy was featured in two truly excellent articles - the first in the University of Washington faculty and staff newspaper, followed a week later by an article in the student newspaper.

And just to include the LJ links: Randy's post about the UWeek interview, and then another post when the article appeared. Followed by his post when the student newspaper article appeared.
