Locked Out

One of the things I bought yesterday on the way home from the CC26 meeting was a small fire-safe, for storing my savings bonds and other small valuables. (Yes, I know that such safes will not always protect data from heat, so there's no need for anyone to tell me that.) Yesterday evening, I opened up the box, and discovered that it's so safe that they didn't include the key to open it!

I'd take it back today, but it's on my way to Monday's BASFA meeting, so I'll take it back to Office Depot and trade it for one with a key tomorrow evening.

to avoid frustration, make sure they're open on the holiday at the time you wan to go

I'll check, but I suspect it's as much of a holiday for them as it is for me, which is to say "none at all." Monday is a regular work day for my company.

Ah. My mom's off tomorrow (her business follows the county holidays) so I don't always know. And of course being self immolated employed, I never know.

Well, you can't get much safer than that.

Of course, right now it's not so much a safe as a little, hollow, impenetrable box...
