We Love Brian Wilson

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] gridlore for posting Brian Wilson's appearance on The Tonight Show. I knew he was a great pitcher; what I wasn't completely aware of was how smart and funny he is. Some athletes, when put in front of a camera, have the personality of a turnip; not Wilson.

He's an amazing man. Great singer. And to have taken up pitching so late in life. Wow! No wonder he painted on that beard.

Wait. It's not the same guy?!

At the bbq place where I had dinner one night of the World Series, the carver asked me, politely, how old my beard was. I was able to tell him proudly that not only is my beard older than Brian Wilson's beard, it's older than Brian Wilson!

Brian Wilson is reported to have an IQ in the 160s. The man is brilliant. And he was having a Ball during the Parade. He was walking into the crowds high 5ing the fans and everything. He was enjoying himself by loving the fans.
He is truly a Giant. I hope they keep him on the team forever.
Oh, and he's a "There is no I in team" player too.

I'm with Deb. I hear the name "Brian Wilson" and I think "Beach Boys" not San Francisco Giants.

I did the same thing a few years back when (IIRC) Kenny Rogers was pitching in the Baseball All-Star Game.
