Silent Kev

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I talked my voice to pieces during SMOFCon. Today, I spent nearly the entire day in a conference room interacting with co-workers entirely through e-mail and instant messaging. It was not until I went to lunch and gave my sandwich order that it occurred to me that it was the first time all day that I'd actually spoken a word. This is probably just as well. I still am somewhat hoarse, but resting my voice and drinking lots of hot tea (but not coffee) seems to help.

Misread the headline as "Silent Key," wondered which ham radio operator had died. I am glad to hear the answer is nobody.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

I overlooked the fact that SMOFcon was happening in Chicago until it was too late to make plans to attend. )-: Hope it was productive.

Yeah, I noticed that potential misreading myself later; sorry about that!

I thought SMOFCon was very productive for me. I filled a bunch of positions for both the 2017 and 2018 Worldcons, and had many valuable conversations. I enjoyed it a lot. In some respects, I enjoy it more than Worldcon, although I seem to end up losing my voice every year at SMOFCon by the time the weekend is over.
