Hint: Lowes will honor HD coupons and vice versa. And especially the "change of address" coupon that you can get from the USPS when you do this online for $1 per address change or via a willing branch that has the forms. Sometimes they also mail you a second set to the digital ones when you make the change of address online.
Hint 2: Always talk to a HD apron employee when you are looking for something...especially if you want X (pricier item) and they are out of Y (cheaper, similar item). Floor personnel are allowed (as of 2006 when I last tried this) to cut 10% or to price match instead of the raincheck process -- this is to get the cash into the system rather than have you take your money to Lowes. I would garner that Lowes may have something similar.
