Double Helping

Early yesterday evening, for some reason I had a wave of exhaustion sweep over me and I fell into bed so early that last night I got about twice as much sleep as I do in a normal night. But that did mean that when the alarm went off at 6 AM, I didn't feel quite so groggy and was able to get to work. I put in a full day's work today from here in Fernley, including conference calls. We did have to take a longish lunch, because we needed to go by the insurance company and give them the contact information for the mortgage holder and also to fill up one of the propane bottles. We have two bottles of propane, and one ran out last night. Lisa says that with the cold weather, we're going through propane at the rate of about one bottle every week or sooner. It would go even faster, but the trailer is small enough that there's not a huge amount of space that needs heating.
Speaking of heating, I did manage to actually get a fire started in the fireplace this morning, although it took quite a while before the fire really caught well. The wood we have burns fast enough and the fireplace is small enough that even with the damper closed, it doesn't seem possible to load it up with enough wood so that it stays lit all night. On the other hand, it's much easier to clear the ashes that way.
