Tie-ing One On: The Video

I posted a picture yesterday of the maintenance of way train setting out tie plates along the Union Pacific right of way in Fernley. Here's a video of the crew using the magnetic grapple to scatter the plates down the side of the track, where crews will place them later as part of the rail-relaying project.
Lisa shot this from the front porch. She tells me that later they came backing the other way, and since that's a road truck, the backup alarm went beep*beep*beep for a long time, which must have been pretty annoying to the crew.
