Unless the rules have changed in the last 6 months or so, you don't need ID to fly, but they make it real inconvenient for you if you don't have it.
What annoys me now is that you have to have ID that shows your current address in order to open a PO Box now. *Damned* inconvenient when you've just moved and don't have anything with the new address yet.
