Ongoing Destruction

I continue to periodically take pictures of the ongoing work to clear away the condemned old lumber yard down the street from our house. When we were buying propane yesterday, the guy there (who has lived here all his life) told us that the building was originally a gasoline distribution plant — apparently fuel was tanked in by rail to that building and then distributed from there — before later becoming a lumber yard and eventually falling into disrepair. We told him about what the fire chief found and why the building is being demolished.
This was as of mid-day Thursday. The building is now completely down and the bottleneck appears to be how fast they can haul the debris away. I think they have only one big truck, so that's going more slowly than the actual demolition.
By the end of the day, a bit of the pile had been reduced.
Friday morning and work recommences as a rainbow briefly forms over Fernley.
The full run of photos including walk-arounds of the area are in a set on Flickr if you're curious. When the work is done, I'll try rearranging the photos of the "static shot" I've been taking into a single sequence so that a slideshow view will show the time-lapse version of the work.
