Yeah, but "sandlot parliamentary procedure" has been around longer than that. Look at how many people think that motions must be seconded no matter what (they don't, and in small boards and committees Robert's Rules of Order says it's not necessary) and even after the motion has been implicitly seconded by debate. (Robert's says that points of order that a motion wasn't seconded aren't in order after debate starts. The act of debating a motion seconds it even if you oppose it.)

I look with some pride at things I got the WSFS and Westercon Business Meetings to understand: unanimous consent and serpentine voting. Both of them got me complaints when I introduced them. Now we take it for granted, and the meetings are shorter and better run for it.
