BASFA Tonight

I had hoped to be able to coax autopope and feorag, who are in the Bay Area this week, down to Fremont BART where I would collect them and take them to/from tonight's BASFA meeting. However, they have a lot on their plate while they are here and have had to demur, which is not a problem and perfectly understood. Besides, a pretty significant number of the people they would have seen at BASFA they'd already seen at Westercon, considering that only two members turned up at the July 4 meeting.

(If there was a BASFA meeting in Portland Willamette Bay that night, I missed it.)

I've been on the road for three weeks now, modulo two days at home between London and Portland running the washing machine and re-packing, and I'm basically fried.

(Like many authors I'm basically an introvert who can do public for a few days at a time, then needs to go hide in a closet. And I'm a week past my best-by date right now and in serious need of hole-up time.)

I'll probably be coming out of my shell by Wednesday or Thursday and I'm not flying out of SFO until next Tuesday, but: sorry to miss BASFA, but not so sorry about not venturing out of my comfort zone (if that makes sense).

We're taking each day as it comes. Tomorrow is getting the laundry done and recovering from Too Much Work. Wednesday onwards is possible. (Friday evening is out; so is Monday daytime due to an event at Google HQ.) Email ...?

No worries. We were hoping to see you at Borderlands and after, but we were in the city the evening before, and twice in a weekend is overdoingly.

I see that you're doing something at Google next Monday. It's a pity they aren't taking you to the Computer History Museum, which is right next to their campus in Mountain View.
