Work Train

This morning, a Union Pacific intermodal train pulled up in Fernley siding waiting for Amtrak's California Zephyr to pass. As it happens, its cargo was loosely related to my Day Jobbe.

I see a lot of XPO Logistics containers going by because XPO bought multiple companies (including my former parent company, Con-Way) and then rebranded everything.
I don't work for the intermodal portion of XPO, but my company (the former Menlo Worldwide Logistics) is part of the former Con-Way that XPO specifically wanted when they bought Con-Way and erased my own employer's corporate name. I think I might be the last employee of the company who worked at Menlo Park, California, which was the source of the then-fledgling third-party logistics-management company's name more than twenty-five years ago.
