I do have a lot to be thankful for. I have a house (the final mortgage payment for which will fall in just a couple of months, a decently good job, and a fair bit of security. And today, an excellent Thanksgiving dinner prepared by Lisa.

Thanksgiving Dinner 2022

Lisa prepared a honey-basted duck, stuffing, scratch-based biscuits, and sauteed mushrooms. My cooking help extended to heating up a can of corn. If you zoom in on the biscuits, you'll see that they're not quite square, but are actually in the shape of the state of New Mexico. That's the only cutter that Lisa has.

Dinner is Served

Lisa is better at carving the duck than I am. We served up dinner to everyone, including some for Kuma Bear, who would prefer fish but who seemed satisfied enough with his share of the feast.

We were very full. A duck is enough for us. This year, we managed to get so much meat off the carcass that we decided it wasn't worth the effort to try and boil the remains down for soup.

After an hour or so to let the dinner settle, we had a bit of pumpkin pie (not pictured) that Lisa had cooked last night. We're pretty well off. I think my grandparents would be pleased with me.
