The solar eclipse yesterday only covered about one-third of the sun in my part of the world, and I don't have eclipse glasses. I did poke a hole in a piece of cardboard and project the sun's image on a wall, so I did see the partially-eclipsed sun that way. For the actual eclipse, I put the NASA coverage on my personal machine while working. My supervisor lives in Fort Worth, and got lucky with the weather and was able to go have a look when it passed over her. My director took the day off to take his family eclipse-hunting, and they also got lucky with the weather; they shared some of the photos of the event that they took.

It's a pity that the totality path didn't cross Fernley, as the viewing conditions would have been excellent.

We had about 90% coverage of the eclipse, and the clouds held off until just after the coverage started to wane. We watched from my sister's house, so no crowds. And the weather also cooperated by being warmer than its been all week!

If you're still there in 21 years or so you're in for a treat.

Huh, cool! I knew the centerline of the eclipse was nearly on top of the house I grew up in near Redding, CA, but I wasn't thinking of further east than that, but it makes sense Kevin's place would be in the path, too.

It was about the same here, in NJ. Three of us watched from my back yard. It was nice. The birds made a lot of noise just before maximum, and again a few minutes after, presumably reacting to the distinct change in light levels and temperature. We were very lucky with the weather. My stepmother, in Eastern PA, had too many clouds to see anything.
