I think your doctor may be confused. Everything I've read says that to control your diabetes when you catch it early, a weight loss of as little as 5 to 10% can do wonders. It's not necessary to be at your target weight to have the disease under control.

I've hit a plateau on weight loss. What with it being the holidays and being sick so much after the move, I'm content to stay there for a bit and concentrate on additional weight loss after the new year. I've lost around 100 pounds and another 50 would have me at a "normal" weight for my height and age.
