Indeed, quite a few of them place a heavy emphasis on investing and market-manipulation, but there are many 18xx titles. 1825 is one that is still available and puts a heavy emphasis on building and operating a railroad. Making the proper investments is still of some importance, but there is no market-manipulation. I know people in the bay area who enjoy the game, should you have the time and inclination to try it.
