Not to worry; the icon photo was taken outside in bright sunlight (at Pt. Mugu station at the exhibit of missiles and airplanes) and is slightly overexposed, while the October photos are all indoors under lower light conditions.
We have to admit, thought, that Kuma does sometime show some of his age (he turned 18 last August).
