nwl and I have actually been to Paso Robles, albeit only for a short while. We stopped there on our way from Ventura to Monterrey in 2006, following the L.A. worldcon, and browsed a couple of antique shops. My main memory of the city is that the temperature was well over 100 degrees that day, so instead of lunch we visited Coldstone Creamery for a snack.
