Date: 2011-05-21 04:22 pm (UTC)I don't know if either team was on a clear channel AM station (note the case) or not, but I've taken advantage of the Albuquerque clear channel (almost) station - 770 KKOB - to listen to UMN games from a distance. First was a Lobo basketball game in November 1991 while driving from Lake Tahoe to Sacramento, then a football game when driving from The Grand Canyon to Phoenix.
Then my brother tells of listening to a game between the Albuquerque Dukes and the Hawaii Islanders AAA baseball teams while at our Grandpa's beach house near Punulu on The Big Island, only to realize at a break that this was also from KOB (as it would have been known back then). This would have probably been either 1970 or 1972.
