Duck Soup

Over the weekend, Lisa was able to boil up the leftover Thanksgiving Duck Dinner, add pasta, garlic, and mushrooms, and make, yes, Duck Soup. It was pretty good, too, and served for two more meals.

Lisa says she'd never had duck before this Thanksgiving. I've had it numerous times in my youth because my family hunted ducks, but it had been a long time.

While it's not big in the US, my favourite all time Chinese dish is aromatic crispy duck. Possibly the nicest food out there.

In Raleigh there is a restaurant called "The Duck & Dumpling", which I visited during the NASFiC there. It does actually serve dishes which don't include duck, but I couldn't bring myself to order any of them, so I had duck soup (with whole baby bok choi, like a sort of Chinese Brussels sprouts), duck dumplings, & something else duck-based. It was quite a meal.
