That sounds like a typical price for a goose, based on the one we got a few years ago here in the UK. They do taste delicious, but (compared to turkey) there's not a great deal of meat on them. Maybe enough for 3-4. You do get masses of goose fat, so put a deep tray under it. I seem to remember we had to siphon off the fat a couple of times during cooking.
