I was amused yesterday when on our way home from a brief grocery shopping outing, I saw that the car ahead of me at the traffic light had Nevada license place LEGOLAS. There was nothing else on it that indicated that it was a "fannish" car.

A while back I saw a picture of a sailboat with the name "GAFIA" emblazoned on the stern. AFAIK it wasn't a fannish boat and I suspect the owner took great pleasure in explaining the name to curious enquirers.

Nah, they are probably into Hot Looking Elves. Lord of the Rings has gotten a big set of Media Only fans since the movies came out. But hopefully, the plate owner has read the books.
