I recommend not using the phrase "put on the table," because the verb "to table" has opposite meanings in English and American. In English, "to table" something means "to place before the body for consideration," whereas in American, it means, "to set aside without a particular time to be considered, but not actually killed; to sit on the speaker's table awaiting a time when the members actually want to consider it."
