Are what currently go in Best Semiprozine going to be considered Professional Magazines under your proposal?
Yes. I propose that we divide solely based on whether it's a paying market, for any amount of pay (other than contributor copies). If it's unpaid, it's a fanzine; otherwise, it's a professional magazine. This is a lot easier to determine than the current kludge about Semiprozine, and I think far more accessible to the average voter rather than to the people who have been studying this stuff for years.
The whole point of this series of proposals is to make the categories more accessible on the surface to people coming to them for the first time, and to make their definitions more obvious.
