We're still waiting for [livejournal.com profile] travelswithkuma's journal and comments to make the transfer from LJ to DreamWidth. I'm not going to trigger my own transfer (and set up the link back to LJ from DW) until I've seen Kuma's journal, which is much smaller than mine, moved. If I'm reading the status correctly, there are over 1500 users queued up waiting to have their journals imported to DW.

My own journal is much larger. I may go dark for a few days when I choose to make the jump to DW.

I'll be sorry to see you go. Your posts on cons and such are always interesting. I don't know if I'm going to move my LJ, since I barely use it any more. The idea of setting up a whole new operation somewhere else isn't exciting me much.

Thank you. For now, I do not plan to delete my LJ, I plan to set it to crosspost from DW to LJ, and I think LJ accounts can comment on DW. Thereafter, the LJ account will depend on the forbearance of the Russian Overlords, I think.

Yes, LJ users can use their accounts to comment on Dreamdwidth, via the "OpenID" option. It's very easy.

Here's a post about why the imports are taking so long. It is a full-on ZERG RUSH over there and my DW is busier than LJ+DW combined have been since, jfc I dunno, 2010? I am now openly using the term critical mass, and I gotta tell you, it is great. I have missed this kind of platform being active so fucking much I don't even have words.

Yes, this. As they say: The import queue is currently a little long. (In the same way that Mt Everest is a little tall and the Mariana Trench is a little deep.)

My own journal, roughly Kuma's size, has been on the stack for over 24 hours and will presumably transfer eventually. I'm being patient.
