Cheap Insurance

Steve, our regular plumber, moonlights as a chimney sweep on weekends. He came by today for our annual chimney cleaning. Now the fire logs we use don't deposit a lot of creosote and such inside the chimney, but we think that having the chimney cleaned annually is a good way to never have a chimney fire, and thus it is cheap insurance. I actually had to talk Steve into accepting 10% more than he's been charging us every year since he started doing this for us, because you can't tell me that costs haven't gone up at all over the past six years. He didn't turn it down.
