Light 'Em Up

This morning, while I was working on Day Jobbe, Lisa was coming and going doing some home improvement tasks. When I had a chance to take a break, she asked me to come upstairs to see what she'd done.



She has started replacing the round incandescent light fixtures with the two-foot florescent long-tube fixtures in the upstairs office (originally built as a "mother-in-law" unit and not fully habitable at this time due to having no working plumbing or heating).

Lisa later went on to install a second fixture, but discovered that the third unit was damaged, so we will have to take it back to Lowe's in Reno when we can find an opportunity to do so. Under the current circumstances, it's not something for which we plan to make a special trip.

Once again, we now have more light for less power in the house. Someday, I even hope to move my home office up there, but the necessary repairs to make it usable are quite substantial and not high on our priority list at this time.

I wanted to see something on your photo a little better so I clicked through to Flickr, where I discovered a second -- and, IMHO, just as good -- subject title. Have I been missing alternate subject titles all these years? Perhaps you could consider including both titles on the Dreamwidth post? (Remember the Rocky and Bullwinkle show where they closed by promoting the next show with two different episode titles? Kind of like that.)

Yes, you've been missing the alternate titles by not clicking through. When you click through any of my shared Flickr photos, you go to Flickr, where the photo is labeled and described as well. I remember the Rocky & Bullwinkle "teasers," but it won't work well when there are multiple photos.

In that particular photo, because the upstairs is very cluttered, you'll see lots of stuff. For example, the Gavel of WSFS is in that photo, as I've been acting as its custodian, having brought it home with me from Dublin intending to carry it to New Zealand this July. I haven't worked out with CoNZealand if they want me to ship it to them, or just hold on to it for the Columbus NASFiC's benefit.
