Real World Discovers Fandom

Thanks to this entry on the Emerald City weblog, I heard that political blogger Kevin Drum is considering attending Worldcon. His post attracted a lot of attention from people who don't really know much at all about SF cons in general or Worldcon specifically, including people who appear to think that Galaxy Quest is an accurate portrayal of all SF/F conventions. Anyway, I've joined the legion of people urging him to ignore the naysayers and attend the convention if he considers himself a serious fan of the field.
