Dodging Raindrops
Oct. 16th, 2006 03:23 pmDuring lunch today, the sky cleared for a while and Lisa and I thought we'd get a short walk. I try walking 3 km after lunch when possible. We got to the Lyons post office when I suggested that was enough. Lisa was for walking a bit longer, so we went another 500 m or so before turning back. As we did so, we saw a bank of dark clouds moving in.
"I don't like the look of that," I said. Sure enough, rain began to fall lightly, then more heavily, turning really heavy as we neared the house and we ran for the door. Lisa apologized for keeping us out just long enough to get caught in the rain. No harm done, of course, but I wish I'd brought an umbrella.
