Taking It Easy

This is the first day of a four-day holiday weekend -- although we have business in Portland on Tuesday -- so we mainly took things easy today, sleeping in and so forth. We had some grocery shopping to do in Stayton, but otherwise were unoccupied. And the rain went away long enough that we were able to get in a longish walk (6 km or so) over to Lyons and back, swinging through the subdivision over there to look at all of the various Christmas light displays people have erected.

Otherwise, this was a good day for doing nothing. I thought of people running around chasing their final Christmas errands and was glad I'd been more or less forced to get most things done weeks ago.
