Minor Travel Adjustments

I got a call from USAir today to advise me that my itinerary for SMOFCon has changed a bit. I leave 20 minutes later, return about an hour later, and come back via Philadelphia rather than Charlotte. No big deal. I went and looked at my reservation and picked out my seats. (I'd made the original booking so far in advance that I couldn't select seats at the time.) All four flights are only 40-60% full, so with luck I should be in good shape with at least a middle open next to me.

Why Paperwork Matters

And speaking of USAir, I was amused to note that one of the key pieces of the America West/USAir merger -- the surrender of AWA's FAA operating certificate -- almost didn't happen because they couldn't find the certificate.
