Mushrooms and SF
Nov. 9th, 2008 10:36 amCheryl writes better than I do about our day in San Francisco. As it happens, we didn't actually buy any mushrooms to take home from the Fungus Festival, but we did have mushroom ice cream. Yes, it works, because candy-cap mushrooms taste like maple syrup and cinnamon.
Assuming we get to Writers With Drinks next month, we now know that we must arrive much earlier than we expected unless we want to spend the entire time standing, which is hard on the legs and back. I was slightly reminded of our experiences attending jazz clubs in New Orleans. I frankly never expected to attend an author reading in such an environment -- not that this is a bad thing!
As Cheryl says, today is scheduled for minimal activity, what with three rugby matches on offer. Besides, I'm tired from all that walking around The City.
