Wondering If I've Forgotten Anything
Dec. 19th, 2008 09:25 pmToday, while starting a new project that will keep me busy for the two work days next week before Christmas, I started packing for my trip to Oregon tomorrow. I have to travel relatively heavy, including carrying both my laptop computers, because I have to have lots of redundancy so I can work from up there. I therefore carry a spare computer, which has in the past caused amusement at the Terrorization Checkpoint as I pull out two identical computers from my carry-ons. I also will shortly be doing a clone of my main hard drive, as a further backup.
I've been packing this afternoon, and hoping that all of the things I've packed will fit within the 50-pound bag weight limit.
I need to get to bed soon, because I have to be up at 4:30 AM in order for Cheryl to drive me to SFO early enough for my early-morning flight. (Any more conveniently-timed flights cost substantially more.) Lisa is even less of a morning person than I am, so when I get to PDX tomorrow morning, I'm supposed to call Lisa, who will then drive up to Portland. I'll stay warm at the airport -- possibly even staying airside because that's where the computer work areas are, even though it means hoping my luggage gets stored in the United luggage service office -- until she arrives to collect me. Hope the snow isn't too bad tomorrow.
