Half a Gigabyte of Noise

My thanks to people who pointed me at Audacity, which did exactly what I wanted, and allowed me to turn a one-minute WAV of pink noise into an 8-hour MP3 of the same sound. This should prove very useful for Lisa. Pink noise is much more restful than white noise.

In about 30 minutes or so, I'll be signing off and packing things to head to Portland to catch my flight back to the Bay Area. I do hope that I don't manage to exacerbate my slowly-healing back while getting through PDX and back to Fremont!

Am Home. Am Ded.

Lisa took me into PDX Airport rather than dropping me at the light rail station, for which I am grateful. I did something I almost never do -- paid the $4 SmarteCarte rental. I needed it, to avoid as much as possible carrying my luggage.

Although the bad muscle aches are now gone, I feel all of the symptoms of the pinched nerve I had a couple of years ago, including the pain down my right leg. It will get better, with rest, but it's not an easy thing, and it's going to be very difficult to stay comfortable while my back continues to heal.
