So Much for a Safe Neighborhood

I got the following scary notice on the door of my apartment recently:

Dear Neighbors,

I just want to alert you to the fact that my condo was robbed last night while I was home and asleep. Jewlery, computer, purse/wallet, etc. was all taken. The robber came in through the bedroom window. Police said this is the 2nd robbery in our building area in the last few days!

This is not good news, particularly as I like to sleep with the windows open because otherwise this apartment becomes unbearably stuffy and warm.

And here I once accidentally went away for two weeks with nobody here at all having left the front door unlocked.
