Flip Side of Flex Time
Oct. 1st, 2010 07:09 pmThe last couple of days have been rather intense for me. Thursday started at 7:30 AM with a conference call and ended the following morning at 5:30 AM when I turned in the last deliverable of the urgent request. (I did get a couple of meals in there and a one-hour nap at one point where I set a job running that didn't need my attention.) After that, I told everyone, "Don't call me; I'm going to go get four hours of sleep," which I did, then attended yet another conference call and went in to the office for the afternoon.
For a while there, I thought I was going to have to scrap the Oregon trip entirely on account of having to work all weekend. However, the most urgent jobs are done, my company laptop has had its OS reinstalled and is back in my hands (hope that fixes the booting problem), and I'm on my way to Oregon in the morning. Depending on how early a start I get, I will swing over to Yuba City to visit my sister, mother, and grandfather for a short time and deliver Australian swag (but alas, no honey) to them.
What I really want to do now is sleep because I'm very tired, but I have to pack two sets of luggage plus things like the computer stuff. I need a "work" set of luggage in case I get called off to Chicago on short notice, which may happen.
