But it's 2:30 AM and I just got the detailed SMOFCon program developed by the Open Source Program event on Friday evening posted and I must get some sleep soon.

Logistics of most of the convention today went surprisingly well, and Registration went pretty smoothly. We've sold a surprising number of at-the-door memberships.

We came up a bit short initially on the number of chips for the Probability & Statistics Seminar, so when Registrar Cindy Scott went out to run some errands in the afternoon (leaving Lisa and I to run Registration), she also bought two cases of poker chips.

After the Mixer, I organized a casual dealers-choice cash poker game. As seems all too common, I won a big hand early and then never won another hand. Lisa came to the game later, as she had helped set up (and then tear down) the sound equipment used during the Mixer/Program Session. She bought in to the game and proceeded to wipe the floor with most of us. The ultimate hand (literally) was a 7-card stud game where your low hole card is wild and all like it. Several people ended up all-in, generating side pots. Lisa had everyone covered. When the showdown came, Lisa revealed her two hole cards (she'd paid extra to keep her last card up instead of down) as 6s, which combined with the last face-up 6 and a Jack and King of clubs to make a dandy little royal flush. She was the big winner of the night, having won $23 off a $5 buy-in.

Lisa later brought her laptop computer down and figured out how to make it talk to the big-screen TV in the Santa Vesta Room. This will be very good for displaying the countdown timer on Saturday night.

Finally, we headed back to the room and I got the detailed SMOFCon program online.

On a different, annoying point, my personal laptop computer stopped booting again. I wish I knew what I'm doing to these computers! Good thing I have my company machine, but I don't want to use it for too much personal stuff except in emergencies.
